Kinshicho

Kinshicho is a common name for the area that develops around Kinshicho Station in Sumida Ward, Tokyo.

It is one of the typical downtown areas in the eastern part of Tokyo.

It has been designated as "Kinshicho / Kameido Subcenter" by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

JR Sobu Line and Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line run into Kinshicho Station.

The origin of the place name comes from "Kinshibori" located on Hokusai-dori at the north exit of the current JR Kinshicho station.

In the current town name, the north side of the station is Kinshi, Sumida Ward, and the south side is Kotobashi, Sumida Ward.

It is bustling as the most downtown area in Sumida Ward, and has a large number of commercial facilities. In addition, Yokogawa and Kamezawa have a history as mansion towns.

The south exit is

There is the largest red-light district, restaurant area, and off-track betting counter (WINS) in the Joto area, and the atmosphere is generally obscene. Marui, a fashion building, and Termina, a station building, have food supermarkets and Yodobashi Camera, and many large-scale retail stores are open.

Kinshicho PARCO opened on March 16, 2019 at LIVIN, a large store that has a 24-hour food supermarket Seiyu.

In addition, Uotora, a fish store famous for chopping tuna, is also in a row of Marui across the Keiyo Road.

There is a movie theater and Rakutenchi Spa, a natural hot spring, in Rakutenchi, which is across Yotsume-dori on the left side of the station.

Also, if you follow National Highway No. 14 (Keiyo Road) toward Matsushiro Bridge and cross south, you will find Tokyo Metropolitan Bokuto Hospital in front of Kadan-gai. If you head toward Ryogoku Bridge, you will find the Bureki Museum.

The north exit

Redevelopment has progressed in recent years, and the atmosphere is different from the south exit, which is an old entertainment district. Tobu Hotel Levant Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Marriott Hotel Kinshicho Tobu) and the concert hall "Sumida Triphony Hall", which is the home of the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, are lined up.

In addition, there is Arcakit Kinshicho (formerly Kinshicho Sogo), a shopping center called "Life Value Mall".

On the south side of Olinas, there is Sumida Ward General Gymnasium in Kinshi Park, where sports are also popular.
